The Inner Jungle

Terms and Conditions

Version 8 · Last updated: September 2026

These terms exist in German and in English. The withdrawal information in section 6 and our model withdrawal form apply to you in English, exactly as they are written here. For all other sections the German version is the agreed text, and this English text is its translation. If anything is unclear, please write to Emily before you sign up.

1. Scope and contracting parties

(referred to below as “I” or “the provider”) and the individual participant (referred to below as “you”) as a consumer within the meaning of § 13 BGB.

2. What the programme includes

The Inner Jungle is a time-limited companion programme for personal self-reflection. Over a period of four weeks, the current beta round includes:

  • four weekly Reflection Rooms (90 minutes each) with the provider and the other participants,
  • one personal one-to-one session (90 minutes) with the provider,
  • an AI-supported space for reflection (chat companion) for the time between sessions,
  • a personal memory and development record within the platform.

The focus of the programme lies on the shared and personal sessions with the provider. The AI-supported space for reflection accompanies the time in between; it does not provide teaching content and does not impart any course material.

The current round is limited to a small group.

I may change the precise shape of individual modules during the programme, but only for one of the following reasons: to comply with a legal or regulatory requirement, to close a security vulnerability, because a technical service I rely on is discontinued or changed, or to bring the content in line with the current state of the art. The core — the four Reflection Rooms, the personal one-to-one session, the AI companion and the four-week duration — remains as described. No additional cost arises for you, and I will inform you of the change clearly and comprehensibly.

If such a change impairs your access to the digital content or its usability, I will inform you beforehand in text form, within a reasonable period before the change, stating its features, its date and your rights. You may then end the contract free of charge within thirty days; the period begins when that information reaches you or, if the change takes effect later, at that point. This does not apply where the impairment is minor or where you can continue to use the unchanged version at no additional cost.

AI-supported features generate prompts, questions and reflections in response to your own entries. They are produced algorithmically. They are not advice, not an assessment of you as a person, and not a statement about your state of health. What is owed is that these features are made available, not that individual outputs are correct. Judging what applies to you is yours to do.

The Inner Jungle is not a medical, therapeutic or psychological treatment offering. See section 9 for more on this.

3. How the contract comes about

Participation follows an application. There is no entitlement to a place in a beta round. If you take part in a round, I send you the payment details (see section 4). The contract comes into effect once I have confirmed receipt of payment and unlocked your access; the confirmation is sent by email together with your personal login details.

4. Prices and payment

The participation fee for the current beta round is a one-off €99 for the entire four-week programme. This is not a subscription; no automatic follow-up payments arise.

As a small business within the meaning of § 19 UStG, I do not show VAT separately.

Payment is made by bank transfer in advance, using the account details I send you. Access is unlocked manually once payment has been received.

5. Duration, access and termination

Access to the current programme round is limited to four weeks from the moment it is unlocked. Access ends automatically when that period expires; any extension is at the provider’s discretion and is decided individually, but establishes no entitlement to continue beyond the four weeks.

Termination. You can terminate this contract at any time — no notice period and no reason required. A declaration in text form is enough; an email to the address given in section 1 will do.

If you terminate during a running round, I keep the part of the fee that corresponds to what has been provided up to that point and refund the rest (§ 628 Abs. 1 BGB). It is calculated pro rata for the time that has passed of the four weeks when your termination reaches me. I may terminate for good cause; statutory rights of termination otherwise remain unaffected.

Termination is not the same as the withdrawal described in section 6: withdrawal is possible within the first fourteen days and unwinds the contract, whereas termination takes effect for the future and is still possible in week three. Both exist alongside each other, as does the right to end the contract under section 2.

6. Right of withdrawal

Withdrawal policy

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day of the conclusion of the contract.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us ([email protected]) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or e-mail). You may use our model withdrawal form, but it is not obligatory.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.

If you requested to begin the performance of services during the withdrawal period, you shall pay us an amount which is in proportion to what has been provided until you have communicated us your withdrawal from this contract, in comparison with the full coverage of the contract.

We ask separately and explicitly during onboarding whether the service should begin during the withdrawal period — without that agreement, access starts only after the 14 days have passed.

Your right of withdrawal expires early once we have performed the service in full — but only if we began performance after you had expressly agreed to the immediate start and, at the same time, acknowledged that you lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been performed in full. We obtain that acknowledgement during onboarding as well; without it, your right of withdrawal remains in place until the 14 days have passed.

7. Requirements for taking part

Taking part requires that you are at least 18 years old and have full legal capacity. Access is personal and cannot be transferred to anyone else.

For this first beta round, the Founding Beta Cohort is open to women only. The Reflection Room is designed as a protected space in which personal experiences are shared; the restriction serves to protect the privacy of the participants (§ 20 Abs. 1 Satz 2 Nr. 2 AGG). That space is not created by the restriction alone: section 8 obliges every participant to keep confidential what others share. Your own statement is what counts here; no proof is required.

8. Your obligations

You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential. Please do not share information about third parties in the space for reflection without their agreement. The content is for personal, non-commercial use only.

Confidentiality. What other participants say in the Reflection Room stays within the group: you do not pass it on — neither by name nor in a form from which the person could be worked out. This continues to apply after the round has ended. You are free to talk about your own experiences; what is protected is other people’s.

Recording the Reflection Room — audio, video or screen capture — is not permitted.

9. Not a substitute for medical or therapeutic treatment

The Inner Jungle is a digital companion for reflection and coaching. Its content and AI-supported conversations serve personal self-reflection only and replace no psychotherapy, psychological counselling, psychiatric treatment or other medical care. In an acute mental health crisis, if you have suicidal thoughts, or if you urgently need support, please turn to a qualified professional or, in Germany, to the Telefonseelsorge (free, 24/7): 0800 111 0 111 or 0800 111 0 222. Outside Germany, please use the emergency number or crisis line where you are.

10. Defects and liability

10.1 I am liable without limitation for damage arising from injury to life, body or health, for intent and gross negligence, where I have given a guarantee, and in accordance with the German Product Liability Act. This also applies to damage caused by my legal representatives or vicarious agents.

10.2 In cases of slight negligence I am liable only for the breach of obligations whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of this contract possible in the first place and on whose observance you may regularly rely. In that case liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract at the time the contract was concluded.

10.3 Where data is lost, liability under 10.2 is limited to the effort that would have been required to restore it had the data been backed up properly and regularly.

10.4 The scope of what is owed follows from section 2. This also applies to content produced by AI-supported features. No limitation of liability beyond 10.1 to 10.3 arises from this.

10.5 For the digital content of the programme, the statutory rules on defects apply (§§ 327 ff. BGB). If it is defective, you have the rights the law provides — in particular subsequent performance, ending the contract and a reduction of the price. For damages, 10.1 to 10.3 apply in addition.

11. Data protection

You can find information on how your data is processed in my privacy policy.

12. Changes to these terms

The version of these terms in force when your contract was concluded applies to your contract. If I change them, that affects only contracts concluded afterwards; nothing changes for your running contract.

13. Final provisions

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of your place of habitual residence remain unaffected. Should any provision of these terms be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions is unaffected.

The language of the contract is German, and the German version of these terms is the agreed text. This English text is its translation; where the two differ, the German version applies. Section 6 (Right of withdrawal) and our model withdrawal form are excepted from this: if your contract with us comes about in English, the English wording of those two applies to you exactly as it stands. No other provision of these terms limits or replaces it.
